Heinrich Wichmann Transporte GmbH, based in Lienen near Osnabrück in Westphalia, is known for its expertise in silo and bulk goods transportation. An ordeal for any tyres
The load on the tyres is particularly evident in the short silos used by Wichmann: the tractor unit's fifth-wheel plate is pushed extremely far back, so that the weight rests on the trailer's three axles. In tight bends, the trailer is almost turned on the spot – an ordeal for any tyres.
'Our tyres have to be able to withstand a lot,' explains Specht. "They not only have to endure extreme twists and turns but also provide strong protection against cut damage."
